Our Pastor
Phillip & Rene Adams
Bio: Hello, my name is Phillip Adams. I am married to the "wife of my youth" Sharan Rene'
Adams for 39 years. We have three sons, Marshall, Michael, and Mark who is in heaven.
Mark was killed in combat in Iraq on October 15, 2005 serving in the Marines. We have four
Grandchildren, John Mark Adams, and Victoria Abigail Adams, Samuel Jed Adams, and Charles
Riner Adams. I received my ministry education from Luther Rice Bible College in Lithonia,
Georgia and Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. I pastored Mount Hermon
Baptist Church in Durham, NC from 1984-1999. Since Mark's death I have been the Executive
Director of the "Sgt. Mark P. Adams Foundation." The Foundation funds "Passion for Peru
Ministries" and Make a Difference Wrestling Clinics." We have been going to Peru since 2003,
over 40 trips, doing Evangelism and Discipleship training. We also provide food, clothes and
shoes to the people up in the Andes Mountains. The "Make a Difference" wrestling clinics are
centered around confronting high school age young men with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a college wrestling coach, who is a christian, come and teach a one-day High School wrestling clinic and also share his testimony. We share Mark's story and the assurance that he is in heaven. We challenge them to think about their lives and their relationship with Jesus Christ. God has blessed us to have shared the gospel with hundreds of people and truly make a difference in the lives of many people in Peru and here in the states.
